Curriculum Vitae Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Geology degree and has 44 years of oil industry experience and is a recognized Professional Geologist with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). Areas of experience include Western Canada, Northwest Territories, Beaufort Sea, Canadian east and west coast offshore, United States North Sea, Columbia Central America, England Onshore and Indonesia. Exploration and exploitation experience was obtained while employed by Pure Oil Company and its successor Union Oil Company of Canada Ltd. Experience includes positions of Exploration Geologist, District geologist and senior positions of Division Exploration/Development Geologist and Exploration Coordinator. In 1980, he joined Westar Petroleum and was involved in senior management, as General Manager of Exploration/Land and Engineering. In 1991 he formed a consulting company that provided technical and investment consulting services to the energy industry, including management of both vertical exploration/development drilling and horizontal drilling joint ventures on behalf of private investors. Mr. Miller joined Beaver Lake Resources in 1993 as Vice-President of Exploration/Land and aided in its activation as a public oil and gas company, trading on the Alberta Stock Exchange. February 1997, he was transferred to the corporate office of Beaver Lake’s parent company, Saba Petroleum Company, located in Santa Maria, California, as Manager of the Technical and Drilling Departments. August 1997, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Saba Petroleum Inc. January 1998, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Saba Exploration Company, and Vice-President Exploration and Drilling International for Saba Petroleum Company. March 1998, he was transferred back to Calgary, Alberta and was appointed President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Beaver Lake Resources Corporation. September 1, 1999, as a result of the sale of Saba Petroleum Company to Greka Energy Corporation, he was once again transferred to Santa Maria, California, as General Manager of Production. In January 2000 he resigned that position and returned to Canada and joined Clark Avenue Financial Group as Vice-President. Clark Avenue is an Investor Relations and Financial consulting firm with the corporate office located in Toronto. Mr. Miller opened an office in Calgary and was responsible to meet with clients to obtain an understanding of their strategies, core areas of operation, production and drilling plans and to meet with various security dealers and private investors in Calgary on a regular basis to keep them updated on the activities of Clark Avenue clients. In March 2002, Mr. Miller was a partner in the formation of TransAction Oil & Gas Ventures Inc. This company was created to serve the property transaction and joint venture sectors of the oil and gas industry. |
